We take a great deal of pride in what we do, whether you are purchasing your dream horse from us, or receiving  training to help you reach your riding goals, we assure you that the highest standards are always looked upon.

Chris von Martels
Chris started riding early in his life, as his family has been involved with horses for generations.  Reinout von Martels, Chris’ father, and his family in Holland were involved with the breeding and competition of Dutch show jumpers. Growing up, Chris competed through the levels both in jumping and dressage starting on ponies and working his way to the horses. At the age of 13, Chris decided that dressage was the route for him, and he committed himself to the life of a dressage rider.  Chris competed through the FEI Junior and FEI Young Rider programs, both of which where great stepping stones to begin his professional riding career. Chris was successful throughout North America, representing Canada numerous times as a Young Rider, both as a team member and as an individual. Soon after moving on from the Young Rider Division, Chris was named to the Canadian Dressage Team’s Long List, on his horse “Top of Magic”, at the Prix St. George and Intermediare 1 level. At this point Chris had opened his own small stable, where he did some teaching and training, and from which he has developed a successful business, doing what he loves! “Von Martels Dressage INC.” has grown tremendously, enjoying much success in both the competition ring, as well as in the sales business. Chris, together with his wife, Lisa, live at the farm in Ridgetown, where they are both thrilled to have a life that is so involved with horses.
